Elmore SPCA
Spay/Neuter Incentive Program
Has Been Discontinued
Due to Program Funding

Due to substantial increases in sheltering operational costs and program funding limits, Elmore SPCA has unfortunately found it necessary to discontinue our Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP). In 2022 we have issued 418 vouchers totaling $27,375.  

SNIP Conditions

 
  • Must be a Clinton County resident.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • No more than one voucher per household each month will be approved. **Due to the high volume of requests we may be forced to set a limit on the number of vouchers we are able to approve per household each calendar year.
  • All vouchers have a 30-day expiration, from date of issue.
  • Please check with your veterinarian to confirm their acceptance of our voucher before applying.

**IMPORTANT** Elmore SPCA pays voucher values ONLY to veterinary offices, we do not reimburse individual applicants after payments have been paid to the veterinary office. Application processing is completed only once per week, so submissions that are received within a seven-day window of the scheduled appointment may not be processed in time for an appointment.

To complete a SNIP Voucher Application select one of the options listed below:

**We will need to know the name of the veterinary service you are using and the date of the appointment. We will contact the SNIP applicant to give them the assigned voucher number, and communicate voucher information to your veterinary office.

What is SNIP?

  Elmore SPCA SNIP is a non-income based spay/neuter assistance program. Its main goal is to prevent overpopulation, but also provides for health and behavioral benefits for household pets and stray cats.
 

SNIP Voucher Amounts

  • Cat Spay/Neuter - $60
  • Dog Spay/Neuter - $75
   

Applying for SNIP
  There will be a limited amount of vouchers each year. Once the fund balance for the program is depleted, no more vouchers will be issued for the year. Our voucher program is an assistance program, and there are no income based qualifications for its use. It can only be used for spay/neuter surgical procedures. All additional costs are the responsibility of the owner. **Due to the high volume of applications received a restriction on number of vouchers per household in a calendar year may be applied.
 
  To apply for a SNIP voucher, download and complete a SNIP Application. Completed applications can be mailed, or dropped of at the shelter. Approved vouchers will not be mailed, they must be picked up within one week of issuance. Please contact your veterinarian and ask if they will accept the Elmore SPCA SNIP voucher prior to applying.

Funding SNIP

  Our spay and neuter voucher program is paid for through special Elmore fundraising events and direct donations from donors. If you would like to support this important community based program, secure electronic donations can be made through our Facbook Link. Please mark all donations as SNIP. Vouchers will only be available for as long as there are SNIP funds.
