*Shelter space is guaranteed (on a 24/7 basis) to stray dogs brought in by dog control officers from towns that contract with Elmore SPCA. Per NYS Ags & Mrkts Law, to redeem a dog the owner must provide valid up-to-date licensing and rabies vaccination, and pay the town's/city's redemption fee. *Owners surrenders are addressed by individual circumstances. Additional efforts, such as courtesty PetFinder listings, can be provided to help owners rehome their pets. *As part of Elmore's mission, and as space allows, we rescue healthy adoptable dogs that are going to euthanized at high kill shelters. |
